Whether you live in Bath or you’re just visiting, Green Street is a modern butcher and sandwich shop that you absolutely must visit.
Located in the heart of Bath, this sandwich shop sells a selection of coffee, bread, pastries, toasties and baps. My experience lies within purchasing many of their sandwiches, rather than what they have to offer from the butchers. I have visited here a handful of times, and it’s worth noting that it is always full of customers! Everyone loves it here, including the Bath Rugby team, who I caught grabbing a bap in front of me.

The incredible smell of freshly baked bread and meat is enough to lure you inside of the shop, not to mention their extremely efficient service that has you waiting only a few short moments for your order, despite the bustling lunchtime rush. I am in love with the flavour combinations of each sandwich, but it would be criminal not to mention my all time favourite thing on the menu, the Roast Porchetta sandwich. This sandwich includes House Porchetta, Celeriac Remoulade, Salsa Verde & Dressed Rocket Leaves for £8.50 – the perfect thing for some lunchtime nibbles.
You can view the full menu here, which includes breakfast items also: https://www.greenstreetbath.com/hot-food. I grabbed a sandwich from here last week, and it was my first time noticing the phenominal focaccia that they were selling – it looked perfectly baked with the fragrant rosemary aromas filling the room.
If you want to make your visit to Green Street a lunch date, or solo date, I would definitely recommend taking a walk down to Parade Gardens, or the Royal Crescent if the day is dry. It is located a short walk away from Waitrose, where you could grab some picnic bits beforehand. Or if you don’t fancy any of that, there are benches outside of the shop where you can enjoy your delicious food.
My favourite coffee shop in Bath, WatchHouse, is a quick walk away from Green Street, if you’re feeling parched. The picturesque coffee shop is a perfect people watching spot, paired with some amazing coffee, tea or matcha!
